Clay animation
For my second animation, I'm planning to create my character with clay. In my mood board, I put some cartoons I used to watch when I was younger.
Clay animation, or called also claymation, is one of many forms of stop motion animations. In this style of animation, everything is malleable. From the characters to the little item. All of this is made with Plasticine Clay, so that the creator can move as he want his character. As for every stop motion animation, it requires about 24 frames per second.
I loved Pingu, the little penguin going through troubles, and I'm pretty sure I'd love it now as well. I was thinking to create something pretty similar. Each episode used to be simple, plain background and just a few objects and characters, even just two sometimes. As my animation has to be of 15-30 seconds, I thought Pingu is a good one to get inspiration from.
I decided to work with clay because I like modeling it and I used to enjoy watching these kind of cartoons so I think it would be nice creating a short one. Of course, then the audience is directed to children.
